Astronaut Christina Koch just scripted history! She set a record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman. She arrived on the International Space Station on the 14th of March and has been there for 289 days consecutively as of December 28, thereby breaking the previous record held by Peggy Whitson. Koch is set to remain on the ISS until February 2020 just a few days short of breaking the record for the longest single spacefllight by a NASA astronaut. This isn't the first time Koch has set a record. In October, she and jessica Meir conucted the all female spacewalk from ISS for the first time ever.
