Assam govt makes rapid antigen test mandatory at airports

Apr 13, 2021 22:45 IST | By Editorji News Desk

Assam govt has made it mandatory for all air passengers coming into the state to take a rapid antigen test. The test had already been made compulsory for anyone coming from Mumbai or Bengaluru.

On testing positive, a passenger will either have to be under home quarantine or get admitted to a private or govt hospital.

Passengers who test negative will have to undergo a RT-PCR test. Following the test, a passenger can leave the airport but will have to be quarantine till the results come. If the test returns positive result then the passenger will have self-isolate or get admitted. If the test is negative, the passenger can end isolation.

While rapid tests will done free of cost at the airport, passengers will have to pay ₹500 for RT-PCR.
