Arvind Kumar new IB chief, Samant Goel to head R&AW

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appointed Samant Kumar Goel as the next chief of India’s external spy agency, Research and Analysis Wing and Arvinda Kumar as the Director, Intelligence Bureau. According to reports, Goel played an important role in planning the Balakot air strikes following the Pulwama terror attack, which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF troopers. He was also instrumental in planning the 2016 'surgical strikes' carried out by the armed forces following the Uri terror attack.
