Kolkata is all set to get an art gallery on a tram in the first week of December, the West Bengal Transport Corporation Managing Director said.
The Kolkata Tram Art Gallery will showcase works by contemporary artists and will reach different parts of the city specially for students. When not in use by any artist, WBTC will display a collection of old photos in the tram.
The gallery on wheels will be parked at certain major junctions like Shyambazar for people to view the paintings at a nominal fee of Rs 6.
The tram would be available for artists at a daily rate of Rs 3600, the officials said.
