Ahead of 70th anniversary of China's National Day, authorities in Hong Kong have arrested two high profile activists on Monday. Clashes erupted over the weekends that saw police fire water cannon, tear gas and rubber-coated bullets at protesters who set fires and threw petrol bombs at government offices. The demonstrators are angry at Beijing's increasing interference in their city's affairs despite a promise of autonomy after British rule ended in 1997.
