Contesting the Delhi Police claim that the arrested journalist Rajeev Sharma was helping the Chinese intelligence, his lawyer on Sunday said the cops had planted evidence and nothing was found during searches at his home. Senior advocate Adish Aggarwala, who is representing the journalist, said on September 14, when the police took Sharma in custody, they searched his house that night and no incriminating evidence was found. The advocate said the police could have informed the media on the day of the arrest itself, but they did not "as nothing incriminating was found". Aggarwala asked why is the Delhi police not interrogating any official from the Defence Ministry. The lawyer said the only thing the police had was that Sharma was working with a Chinese media organisation.
