Apple to drop iPhone mini in 2022, new models to add 48MP camera with 8K video: Report

Apr 15, 2021 17:01 IST | By Editorji News Desk

According to reputed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will be dropping the iPhone mini for its 2022 lineup of smartphones.

Launched last year, the 5.4-inch model has failed to gain traction equivalent to its larger siblings, and Apple has had to scale back production in the face of falling demand. Instead, Kuo notes, Apple will launch two 6.1-inch models, and two 6.7-inch models next year.

Apple may also upgrade the cameras to a 48MP sensor, and add support for 8K video recording, which many flagships already support.
