As the coronavirus has spread to various parts of the globe, animal rights activists in South Korea demanded a ban on the slaughter of small animals. They gathered in Seoul and encouraged fellow citizens to avoid eating wild animals as they claimed that wild animals may be the source of the outbreak however there is no confirmation yet. The country has reported over 500 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, taking its total infections tally to close to 3000.
