Anderson picks up a calf injury, apologises to team

Aug 02, 2019 07:34 IST

As Stuart Broad ripped through the Australia batting order, the English team management was struggling with the fitness of their highest test wicket-taker James Anderson. After bowling just 4 overs in the morning, Anderson was taken off the field as he injured his calf muscle. The 37-year-old was taken to the hospital for scans and the team management is yet to take a call on his participation in the series. Reports though in the English press suggest that Anderson who has a record 575 Test wickets could be ruled out for the rest of the series.
