An urban forest, displaying the rich flora and fauna of Uttarakhand is all set to open to the public from the first day of Navratri in Dehradun's Jhajhra. Called Anand Van, it has been developed over a span of 3 years and aims to serve as a nature education centre. The park also has walking and cycling tracks. They have also created a model for water conservation so those interested can learn about the process among other things. Visitors will be able to see life-sized replicas of various animals like tigers and snow leopards as well and can even visit the butterfly park inside. The green landscape, authorities hope, will help reduce air pollution in the city and generate awareness on a variety of topics.
