Amit Shah tutors Cong on J&K, Nehru and Partition
Home Minister Amit Shah hit out at the Congress for creating a divide between J&K and the rest of the nation. Blaming Nehru for partition, Shah said Kashmiris were never taken into confidence and previous Congress governments did nothing to change the situation. "Who partitioned India? We didn't do it and even today we stand by the fact that the country shouldn't be divided on the basis of religion. It was a monumental historic blunder, as high as the mountains and as deep as the ocean. But we didn't make this mistake," said Shah. Adding that it was done by the Congress and they can't run from it. You accuse us of not taking stakeholders into confidence? During partition, Nehru didn't take even the Home Minister or Deputy Prime Minister into confidence. If they were taken into confidence, then PoK would have been a part of India and there would have been no problem of terrorism.
