Amit Shah on detained ex-J&K CMs: no one called them anti-national

Jan 03, 2020 15:21 IST

Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the decision on release of the three former J&K chief ministers who are currently under house arrest will be taken by the union territory's administration. He added that the decision to detain them was a professional one and was done after they made provocative statements. To a question on leaders being labelled "anti-national", Amit Shah made it clear that neither he nor anyone from the government had called them so. The three former CMs-- Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti-- have been under detention since August 2019, soon after the Centre revoked the state's special status under Article 370 and bifurcated the state into two union territories.
