Amid various states raising concern over the shortage of oxygen and hospital beds, PTI reported that various aspects related to medicines, oxygen, ventilators and vaccination were discussed at the meeting.
Asking local administrations to be proactive and sensitive to people's concerns, PM Modi said there is a need to utilise full potential of India's pharma industry to meet rising demand of various medicines.
He also asked the officers to utilise entire national capacity to ramp up vaccine production. He also called for close coordination with states in handling the Covid-19 pandemic.

The state health department said that the new infections have taken the tally to 37,70,707.
Besides, 419 deaths due to the pandemic were reported in the state, which pushed the death toll to 59,970.
As many as 56,783 patients were discharged during the day, raising the number of recovered cases to 30,61,174.
The state had earlier recorded its highest one-day spike in cases on Friday at 63,729.
Mumbai recorded 8,811 new cases and 51 fatalities, taking the city's case tally to 5,71,018 and the death toll to 12,301.
