A day after DMK chief MK Stalin promised an assistance of ₹1,000 for homemakers if voted to power, the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu on Monday bettered the rival's poll promise.
Chief Minister K Palaniswami on Monday assured an assistance of ₹ 1,500 per month to women family heads. The ruling party has insisted that it was not a copycat measure and has been in the pipeline.
Making the announcement on Women's Day, AIADMK top leader also promised six cooking gas cylinders free of cost to families in a year.
The AIADMK manifesto for the April 6 assembly elections would soon be released with several more ''satisfying'' schemes for people, the CM promised.
