Ahead of the Kumbh Mela that takes place in Haridwar, the Uttarakhand government made it mandatory for travellers from 12 states including Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh to carry negative coronavirus test reports while visiting the state.
In the latest guidelines, the state government asked the district administrations to make arrangements for random testing at airports, railway stations and border check posts. The guidelines will be applicable from April 1.
Further, the government directed the authorities to take strict action against those who do not follow the coronavirus safety measure and violate protocols.
