Rejecting government's plea on AGR dues matter, the Supreme Court on Wednesday said its order was clear and no further objections will be allowed against payable dues. The bench expressed displeasure at the Telecom Department's plea and said that self-assessment by DoT is a sheer violation of court's orders and called it contempt. The matter has been deferred to be heard again in two weeks. DoT had sought to allow 20 years time for telecom companies to pay off their AGR dues in installments. Following the verdict, shares of Vodafone Idea plunged over 23% as the company's ability to run operations remain doubtful.
