After PM Modi, Amit Shah receives first dose of Covid-19 vaccine

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday joined the list of political leaders who received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, as India started the second phase of the inoculation drive.

Amit Shah was administered the first dose of coronavirus vaccine by a team of doctors from the Medanta Hospital.

His vaccination came hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi was administered a shot of Covaxin at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi. The ongoing phase of the vaccination drive will cover those above the age of 60 and those over 45 with co-morbidities.

Apart from PM Modi and Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Union minister Jitendra Singh, NCP chief Sharad Pawar were among the leaders who received the first dose of vaccine against Covid-19 on Monday.
