Advisor to J&K Guv: will release detained Kashmiri netas 'one-by-one'

Political leaders detained in Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 in the state would be released in a phased manner 'one-by-one' after individual analysis according to Farooq Khan, advisor to J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik. On Wednesday, a dozen Opposition leaders in Jammu were released from house arrest and allowed to resume political activities. Centre plans to release political leaders because of the Block Development Council elections in the state, scheduled for October 24th. National Conference’s Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, People’s Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti and J&K People’s Conference leader Sajjad Gani Lone, have been under house arrest since August 5, after a lockdown was imposed in the state.
