Senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar resigned from the post of legislator on Friday. Pawar represents Maharashtra's Baramati constituency in the state. The resignation which has been accepted comes just days after the Enforcement Directorate named him in a ₹25,000 crore money laundering case. Though, the Speaker has said that Pawar has not mentioned a reason for his resignation. Interestingly, the Former Maharashtra Deputy CM's move comes on the day when nominations for the October 21 Assembly elections opened.
