An ABVP leader and oncologist, who was a few months ago accused of harassing an elderly neighbour in Chennai, has been appointed to the AIIMS, Madurai, board. Dr Subbiah Shanmugam, who is an oncologist and also the head of the ABVP in Tamil Nadu, was accused by his neighbour of urinating at her doorstep and dumping used masks there over a parking dispute. She had also submitted CCTV footage to the police to support her allegations. Dr Shanmugam has denied the allegations. Reacting to the health ministry notification on his appointment, DMK leader Kanimozhi tweeted that this an endorsement of indecent behaviour by the BJP.
