Capping days of speculation, the Shiv Sena has said it has decided to field party chief Uddhav Thackeray's son Aaditya Thackeray from the Worli assembly constituency in Mumbai. With this, Aaditya Thackeray will become the first member of the Thackeray family ever to contest an election. Shiv Sena's sitting Worli MLA Sunil Shinde will vacate his place for Aaditya, news agency PTI reported quoting a close aide of Shiv Sena chief. The Sena has been projecting Aaditya as the chief ministerial face if the NDA returns to power after the next month's assembly polls.
