In a first, the Hyderabad Metro Rail created a special green corridor to transport a harvested heart to save a patient's life, who was admitted at Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills.
The special train started from Nagole Metro carrying a healthy heart harvested from a brain dead patient at Kamineni Hospital.
The train then ran through the entire 21-km stretch, passing 16 stations in approximately 30 minutes. Only a team of medical experts travelled with the heart for the transplant, according to an L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited release.
