In a medical breakthrough, scientists at California's Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute have created hair that grows through the skin using human stem cells. Currently, transplanting hair follicles from one part of the head to the other is the only option. There is an unlimited supply of human stem cells which can be derived from a simple blood draw, and in the future, a person's blood sample could be used to grow more locks. According to experts, this highly controlled method for generating natural-looking hair could improve the lives of millions.
