How did our grocery shopping habits change in lockdown 2.0?

A PTI report has found that there was a big shift in buying patterns from the first to the second phase of lockdown. Consumers moved from basic necessities to buying high-value items like snacks, processed food, packaged meat and frozen desserts. Retailers like Future Group, Metro and Lots Wholesale reported a demand surge in biscuits, noodles and other munching items. Demand to ready-to-cook meals, frozen food also went up in the second phase as restaurants continued to remain shut.
