Prithvipal Singh, an 83-year-old diabetic patient from India has become among the oldest in the UAE to beat the novel coronavirus, after a month-long stay in hospital. Mr Singh travelled to Dubai from India in October to be with their son. The domestic help contracted Covid, following which the entire house was infected. Singh's condition deteriorated as the days passed and he required intensive care. But eventually he overcame the illness. Doctors believe his daily walks before Covid were responsible for his miraculous recovery. Singh was discharged just in time for his birthday and the family cut a cake to mark the double celebration!
