India's coronavirus tally jumped to more than 34.4 lakh on Saturday as the country logged over 76,000 new cases in the last 24 hours. This is the third consecutive day where more than 75,000 cases have been registered. The Covid fatality count has also crossed 62,000 with over 1,000 deaths on Friday, govt data released on Saturday morning showed. There are now 7.5 lakh active Covid cases while over 26 lakh have recovered. New cases in India have been rising at an alarming rate. The country's doubling rate was 32 days on Friday against 96 days in the United States and 68 in Brazil.
