5 held in Chennai for drawing anti-CAA 'kolams'

In a first, the Chennai police Sunday detained five people in Besant Nagar for drawing ‘kolams’ or rangoli in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act and the proposed nationwide National Register of Citizens. Two senior lawyers who tried to get in touch with the protesters were also detained. The detainees were kept at a community centre in Besant Nagar before being released.
