Day 2 of the 4th Test in Ahmedabad could have very easily belonged to England had Rishabh Pant not turned the tide against the visitors. Resuming at 24/1, India had a top-order collapse as Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane fell quickly, leaving India in a vulnerable position at 80/4. Rohit Sharma continued to fight but was dismissed for a hard-fought 49. Pant then changed the complexion of the game with his 3rd Test ton. He was well supported by Washington Sundar, who too brought up his half-century. Pant got out for 101 but Sundar's unbeaten 60 helped India end day 2 in command at 294/7, leading England by 89 runs.
