40 killed in Myanmar's bloodiest day since military coup

Mar 04, 2021 07:54 IST | By Editorji News Desk

Myanmar saw its most violent day on Wednesday since the military coup as at least 38 people were reported dead in army crackdown on protesters in several towns and cities. Police and soldiers opened fire with live rounds with little warning, witnesses said. The dead included four children, an aid agency said. Hundreds of protesters were arrested, local media reported. Myanmar has seen massive and sustained protests against the takeover by the military last month.
