Over 3 crore Kawariyas have thronged Haridwar as part of the ongoing Kawar yatra. The pilgrims have assembled on the banks of Ganga ahead of Mahashivratri on Tuesday. The 12-day long annual Kawar yatra will culminate on July 30 on the occasion of Shravan Shivratri. The pilgrims travel to Haridwar during the Kawar yatra to collect Ganga water and take it back to their native places to offer it to Lord Shiva.
