3,000 Covid infected go 'missing' in Bengaluru, police to launch search

Apr 29, 2021 08:57 IST | By Editorji News Desk

Posing another challenge for an already burdened system, 3,000 Covid infected people have gone missing in the city. Many of them have switched off their phones, prompting the government to deploy police to trace them.

Karnataka Revenue Minister R Ashoka said most of the infected people have switched off their phones and are not letting people know about their whereabouts and added that this behavior is spreading the disease, in a state that has seen  record spike in cases in the past few days. "Some switch off their phones, some migrate to other states and some do not answer the calls," the Minister added.
