22 MLAs test Covid+ ahead of Punjab Assembly session

Aug 26, 2020 19:27 IST

Ahead of the one-day Punjab Vidhan Sabha session on August 28, 22 legislators have tested positive for coronavirus. The Tribune reported quoting sources that three Aam Aadmi Party MLAs, six from Akali Dal and the rest 13 from the Congress have tested positive. Some MLAs who tested positive were present at the legislative party meetings of both AAP and Shiromani Akali Dal held on August 24. Given that all contacts of a Covid positive MLA have to self-quarantine for five days, only two MLAs from AAP can attend the session, while none from the Akali Dal can do so.
