It was a colourful start to the 20th edition of the annual Hornbill festival of Nagaland on Sunday. The 10-day event is a mélange of performances, crafts, local cuisine and games that showcase the diversity and richness of the state. Named after the majestic Hornbill bird, native to Nagaland, the festival celebrates Naga culture with tribes from across the state. The festival was inaugurated by Nagaland governor RN Ravi and it aims for zero-waste this year. The festival is being held in two districts, Dimapur and Kohima.
