As per the regulatory filing by the company, Tata&nbsp;Motors did not produce even a single unit of Nano&nbsp;in 2019 though it sold just one unit on February. The company said no decision has been made yet to officially&nbsp;discontinue Ratan&nbsp;Tata's 'people's car'.
In December 2019, Tata&nbsp;Motors had zero production and sales of the Nano&nbsp;while it produced 82 units and sold 88 units in the same month of 2018.

Car maker Jaguar has delivered a software update to its I-Pace electric vehicle, giving it an additional 12 miles of range. Jaguar says it's increased the efficiency of the vehicle's all-wheel-drive system,&nbsp;improved its aerodynamics, and let the battery run to a lower state of charge. All the improvements were achieved by real-life driving data collected by Jaguar, through its cars on the road and it's experience in the eTrophy race series.

Hero MotoCorp&nbsp;says it will increase the price of its motorcycles and scooters from January next year.
The price increase across its range of two-wheelers will be up to Rs 2,000, although the exact quantum of the increase will vary on the basis of the model and the specific market.

Maruti increased its production in November by 4.33 per cent, after having reduced output for nine straight months due to lower demand.
Maruti's&nbsp; production rose to 1.41 lakh units vs 1.35 lakh units and production of utility vehicles such as the Vitara Brezza, XL6 and Ertiga increased 18% &nbsp;to 27,187 units in November.

Tesla's Model X electric SUV and its rival, the Porsche Taycan, have both received a 5-start rating from European car safety agency Euro NCAP. The Model X scored 94% for safety assist, and 98% for adult occupant protection, while the Taycan EV scored 73% and 85% in the same departments respectively. To recall, the first iteration of the Tesla Model X was released in July 2016, while the Porsche Taycan was released in September earlier this year.

Sales of passenger vehicles in November declined after showing an increase in the previous month.The numbers&nbsp;reaffirm industry fears that the short-term cheer was only due to&nbsp; festive season offers.
Maruti Suzuki India reported a nearly 2 percent drop in total sales of its vehicles in November to 1.5 lakh units year-over-year.&nbsp;Total auto sales for M&amp;M in November fell 9 percent to 41,235 units while&nbsp;Tata Motors reported a 25.32 percent decline in total sales.&nbsp;

Ford&rsquo;s electric car endeavour is gaining some serious momentum. The American carmaker&rsquo;s limited-run First Edition of the Mach-E electric SUV that was unveiled earlier this month, has reportedly sold out in the US. While official figures haven't been revealed, it is known that overall Mach-E production is limited to 50,000, hinting that the First Edition is likely a small chunk of that. The Premium model of the Mustang-branded electric SUV is set to arrive in late 2020 with a 300 mile range and a $50,600 price tag.

Suzuki Motor Corporation has changed its sales forecast for it's Indian subsidiary Maruti Suzuki, to a whopping 20 per cent decline in FY20 from a tepid 4 per cent growth. The scale down comes after a dismal first half sales performance in Asia's third-biggest car market.
While&nbsp; Maruti&nbsp;did see some improvement in festive sales ,&nbsp;Suzuki Motor Corp&nbsp; reported&nbsp; a 32% fall in it's second-quarter operating profit, weighed by a slump in India, its biggest market.

According to reports, electric carmaker Tesla has rolled out a new update for its Autopilot self-driving system, which now lets it recognise traffic cones, and switch lanes accordingly. However, some early users have reported that the system isn't perfect at understanding display pylons and cones just yet, and could potentially steer the vehicle into oncoming traffic or construction. As always, Tesla has reminded drivers that despite the Autopilot system, they are required to pay attention at all times.

Shares of Tata Motors surged in trade, adding on to the&nbsp;16 per cent rally the stock saw in Sunday's one-hour Muhurat trading session. The&nbsp; rally comes after Tata&nbsp;Motors' &nbsp;September quarter results raised hopes that the British arm JLR is back on track.
CLSA upgraded Tata Motors to buy after almost three years of&nbsp; a 'Sell' rating. Nomura said JLR&rsquo;s &nbsp;margins at 13.8 per cent were significantly higher than&nbsp; estimates of 8.6 per cent.

Even as the Auto industry struggles to pick up sales, Mercedes Benz reportedly delivered more than 600 new cars across India, on Dhanteras.&nbsp;
Of the 600 cars delivered, more than 250 were delivered in the Delhi NCR region. 200 units were sold in Maharashtra and Gujarat, while the rest were delivered in other parts of India.&nbsp;
The company said it's&nbsp; Mercedes-Benz GLE is now sold out 3 months ahead of plan, and festive season demand has been strong.&nbsp;

India's second largest automaker,&nbsp;Bajaj&nbsp;Auto,&nbsp;on Wednesday announced the comeback of its scooter segment with the launch of its all-electric scooter - Chetak. Bajaj&nbsp;had stopped production of scooters in 2009 to focus on motorcycles. The legendary Chetak&nbsp;will be available in two modes providing a range of 85 kilometres in Eco mode and 95 kilometres in Sport mode. The company, didn't reveal the price, but said that the electric scooter will only be available for sale from January 2020 in Pune&nbsp;and will gradually enter Bengaluru. Bajaj&nbsp;said that they&nbsp;will decide on further expansion to other regions depending on sales in the two cities. Interestingly, plastic was not used during manufacturing of the e-scooter and the company has also done away with their insignia from its body.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Passenger vehicle wholesales in India declined for the 11th consecutive month in September, as the onset of the festive season failed to lift buyer sentiment&nbsp; as was hoped. According to the latest data by SIAM, passenger vehicle&nbsp; sales during September dropped by 23.69 percent compared to last year, clocking&nbsp;in at&nbsp; 2,23,317 units.&nbsp;

Even as auto companies hope that the festive season brings a boost to car sales, here's a run-through of the top 10 selling cars in September.&nbsp;Maruti and Hyundai dominated the field with seven out of the top ten best-selling models from the&nbsp;Maruti&nbsp;stable.&nbsp;Maruti Suzuki Dzire emerged as the top-selling model , followed by the Alto, the Swift and the WagonR. At 5th spot was Maruti's premium hatchback Baleno. From the&nbsp;Hyundai stable, the top selling models included the Elite i20 and the Grand i10.&nbsp;

Ford Motor Co and Mahindra &amp; Mahindra&nbsp;are all set to form a&nbsp;joint venture company&nbsp;in India, which is expected to be valued&nbsp;at $275 million. The two will&nbsp;develop, market and distribute Ford branded vehicles in the country. The companies had been negotiating a deal for months and have finally agreed on the stakes.&nbsp;Ford will hold a 49% stake in the new entity, while&nbsp;Mahindra will own 51%, Reuters reported.&nbsp;

Analysts are watching the trends in monthly auto sales for some early signs of a turnaround.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Maruti Suzuki's September sales declined over 24% year-on-year. However at 1.22 lakh&nbsp;units, it's an improvement over&nbsp;1.06 lakh units in August.
Meanwhile&nbsp;MG Motor&nbsp; reported retail sales of 2,608 units in September and said it has re-opened bookings for Hector SUV.&nbsp;
However CV makers are struggling.&nbsp;Ashok Leyland's&nbsp;monthly sales came in&nbsp;at 8,780 units versus analyst&nbsp;expectations of 9,982 units, also slipping 55%, year-on-year.

Even as better sales numbers&nbsp;are expected from monthly auto sales courtesy festive season, India Ratings and Research has revised its outlook on the auto sector to 'stable-to-negative' from 'stable' for the remaining half of the current fiscal. However, credit metrics of auto OEMs are expected to remain resilient in the October-March period , albeit at lower levels than those observed over the last five fiscals, Ind-Ra said.&nbsp;

Tata Motors has&nbsp;launched a unique festive offer on it's car sales where customers who&nbsp;purchase the 'Tiago', 'Tigor' or 'Nexon' model&nbsp;get a free Honda scooter. The offer is dealer-specific&nbsp; and available only in Madhya Pradesh&nbsp;as of now. The tail end of September is considered the biggest sales period for auto companies with competitor&nbsp;Maruti&nbsp;announcing a ₹5,000 discount on select models.&nbsp;

Amidst a crunching slowdown for the auto sector, news reports indicate &nbsp;Bajaj Auto has increased prices of some of its models such as the Avenger Street 220, Cruiser 220 and the Street 160.&nbsp;Morgan Stanley, in a research note, said that while the price hike is important given weak demand and piled up inventories, it may not help in terms of earnings for Bajaj Auto going forward.
