Lewis Hamilton - 6th Formula 1 World Title

Lewis Hamilton continued to dominate the Formula 1 race tracks as he romped home to his 6th World title and now sits just 1 championship behind the legendary Michael Schumacher. Hamilton won an incredible 11 races this season as Mercedes also won the constructors’ title once again.

 

Eluid Kipchoge - Super-marathon-man 

Eluid Kpichoge became the 1st human to break the 2 hour mark in marathons. He ran a marathon in Viena with a timing of 1 hour 59mins & 40 secs. Sadly the effort wasn’t considered a world record as the run took place in controlled conditions.

 

Mumbai Indians - IPL Kings 

Mumbai Indians won the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League, their 4th title making the side the most successful team in IPL history. Mumbai beat a spirited Chennai Super Kings in the final as the match finished on the very last ball.

 

Djokovic & Nadal share the spoils

2019 was once again the year shared by Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. Nadal won the French & US Open while Djoko pocketed Wimbledon & the Australian Open crown. Roger Federer though had a disappointing year and lost the final of Wimbledon and reached the semi-final of the French Open.

 

Liverpool Champions League

English club Liverpool won the Champions League in 2019 which was their 6th European crown. Mohd Salah was the standout star as boss Jurgen Klopp stole the show with his managerial skills.
