Two farmer unions – All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee and Bharatiya Kisan Union (Bhanu) – Wednesday separated themselves from the ongoing farmer protesters at Delhi borders, a day after the protesting farmers engaged in violent clashes with police on Republic Day.
A day after turmoil on the streets of Delhi, All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee on Wednesday said it was withdrawing from the farm protest right away. The farm union leader VM Singh said they can't carry forward a protest with someone whose direction is something else. "I have nothing to do with the protest which is being led by them and over here being represented by Rakesh Tikait on their behalf," Singh added. However, he mentioned, the protest will continue until the farmers get MSP guarantee but not in this form. "We have not come here to get people martyred or beaten up," Singh said. He also appealed for action against those who took different route.
