Ahead of Rajinikanth & Akshay's 2.0 release filmmaker, S Shankar revealed that Bollywood star Akshay wasn't their first choice to star opposite Rajinikanth. A report in Deccan Chronicle claims that Shankar accepted that they approached The Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger to play the antagonist but things did not work out.
