A new survey conducted by independent agencies Transparency International India and LocalCircles states that corruption across 20 states in India dropped by 10 per cent from 2018 to 2019. According to the ‘India Corruption Survey 2019’, the percentage of people who had paid bribes fell from 58 per cent in 2018 to 51 per cent this year. In 2017, the figure was 45 per cent. At least 1,90,000 people across 248 districts participated in the survey.
