Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav paid tribute to Kranti Goud, a member of India's victorious women's cricket World Cup team, at a ceremony held at the CM's official residence in Bhopal. Yadav praised Goud's persistence and hard work. Alongside her, accolades were given to her parents and coach.

Kranti Goud, a 22-year-old medium fast bowler from Ghuwara town in MP's Chhatarpur district, recounted her team's exhilarating victory over South Africa in the final match at Navi Mumbai’s D Y Patil Stadium on November 2. The win was a source of national pride and sparked jubilant celebrations across India. "Winning the World Cup was a very proud moment for all of us and for the country," she said, emphasizing her commitment to India's victory.

Goud shared insights on the drive and dedication that led to her success. Despite hardships, she remained resilient. "If you ever feel like giving up, think about your dreams. Even when we had only one meal a day, I didn't give up," she reflected, expressing her happiness in making her region and family proud.

The cricketer also discussed her fitness regimen, emphasizing the importance of diet and self-control. A recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi left a profound impact on her. "I felt very relaxed after meeting him. The PM told us 'we have to stay in the present,'" she recalled.

The Madhya Pradesh government recognized her achievement with a cash reward of Rs 1 crore. Chief Minister Yadav lauded the significance of yoga and fitness, noting their essential roles in a sportsperson’s life. He acknowledged the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in promoting yoga internationally.

Goud’s parents and coach were also honored during the ceremony, and the Chief Minister announced a major event planned for November 15 in Jabalpur, commemorating the birth anniversary of tribal icon Bhagwan Birsa Munda, where Goud will be honored again. Responding to her request, Yadav committed to the development of a cricket stadium in Chhatarpur.

Later, Goud expressed her gratitude, stating, "It's a very proud moment for me because the Chief Minister, despite his busy schedule, took time for me and my family. I am also very thankful for the Rs 1 crore reward."
