IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians become most engaged sports brand worldwide: Report

Despite having a nightmare IPL season, Mumbai Indians have sustained their top status on YouTube engagement worldwide beating popular sports brands such as Liverpool FC and Real Madrid.

According to a study conducted by the Spanish research agency Deportes & Finanzas, the most successful team of IPL clocked 66.1 million engagements in April, 2022 on YouTube, which is 16 million more than second placed Liverpool FC.

"MI produced engaging video content around the squad coming together for the first time ahead of the ongoing IPL season," the report said.

The 5-time champions bettered their numbers on this count by over 50 percent as they were also ranked as the most popular sports brand for March 2022 on YouTube with 40.7M engagements.

Mumbai Indians had a very disappointing IPL season as they became the first team to be knocked out of the race for the playoffs and won just 4 out of 14 matches.
