IPL 2022, RR VS PBKS: Rajasthan snap 2-match losing streak, beat Punjab by 6 wickets

Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals remain on 3rd and 7th spot respectively in the points table.

Rajasthan Royals ended their 2 match losing streak as they crushed Punjab Kings by 6 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday in IPL 2022. Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals remain on 3rd and 7th spot respectively in the points table.

Chasing a huge 190-run target, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who opened today alongside Jos Buttler, took control of the chase with his excellent 68 off 41 balls. His opening partner, though got a start, but fell early to Kagiso Rabada after scoring 30 in 16 balls. Jaiswal then made 2 crucial partnerships with skipper Sanju Samson and Devdutt Padikkal before losing his wicket to Arshdeep Singh. Punjab’s Arshdeep Singh bowled a brilliant penultimate over, but Shimon Hetmyer’s cameo ensured there would be no hiccup and took Rajasthan home with 2 balls to spare.

Earlier, Mayank Agarwal won the toss and opted to bat first. A cumulative effort from Punjab batters helped them to post a 189-run total. While everybody got their starts, they failed at converting it in big runs except Jonny Bairstow who scored a 40-ball 56. Jitesh Sharma added an unbeaten 38 in 18 as Chahal tried to restrict them within 200 with a 3-wicket haul.
