Gautam Gambhir Praises Team Culture Post India-England Series Draw

London, Aug 5 (PTI) - India head coach Gautam Gambhir has stressed the importance of fostering a strong team culture focused on hard work and improvement, regardless of changing personnel.

In a post-match dressing room address, after India achieved a commendable 2-2 draw against England for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Gambhir shared his vision.

"The way this series has turned out, at 2-2, is an exceptional result. Congratulations to everyone," Gambhir remarked in a video posted by BCCI.

He emphasized, "Remember, we will continue to get better. We will keep working hard and improving our areas because by doing so, we can dominate cricket for a long time."

He added, "People will come and go, but the dressing room culture should always be such that people want to be part of it. That is what we aim to create," Gambhir emphasized, following India's achievement in avoiding a third consecutive series loss.

After back-to-back series defeats against New Zealand and Australia, India found itself in a period of transition, bringing in a younger side under Shubman Gill to face England.

Continuing, he said, "Good luck, enjoy yourselves. You can take a couple of days off; you deserve every bit of it. What you guys have accomplished, you deserve all of it."

During the gathering, all-rounder Washington Sundar was honored with the 'Impact Player of the Series' award, presented by senior player Ravindra Jadeja.

Washington expressed, "Playing four games consecutively in a place like England is a tremendous blessing. I've always wanted to perform well here, and as a team, the way we approached each day was incredible."

"The energy we created, especially from a fielding perspective, showed we were always there for one another. Thank you so much for everything," he concluded.
