CWG 2022: India robbed of a win in boxing? Sanjeet Kumar's controversial verdict make fans angry

Sanjeet Kumar lost his 96kg round of 16 bout to 2018 Gold Coast silver medallist Plodzicki-Faoagali via a split decision

2021 Asian Championship gold medallist boxer Sanjeet Singh went to the Commonwealth Games 2022 chasing maiden success, but his dreams came crashing down when he lost his 96kg round of 16 bout to 2018 Gold Coast silver medallist Plodzicki-Faoagali via a split decision.

As per the final result, two judges favoured 28-29 in favour of Sanjeet while two others favoured exactly the opposite in his Samoan opponent's favour. The decision went down to the Sri Lankan judge, who favoured the bout in Faoagali's favour after earlier carding a score of 28 each.

The result not only left the fans shocked but also bamboozled the British commentators, who started praising Sanjeet for his dominating show before the result was announced.

This didn't go down well with his supporters as they blamed the Sri Lankan judge and accused him of bias.
