Women's cricket is making its debut in the Commonwealth Games this year and India captain Harmanpreet Kaur feels grateful for the big opportunity and said that the team will be cheering for each and every medal of India in Birmingham.

In a media interaction prior to their departure to England, Harmanpreet expressed her excitement to be a part of the multi-event tournament and said that this time it is not only cricket but also other sports.

The team will be cheering for the Indian contingent and will celebrate each and every medal of India at the event, added the 33-year-old.

Harmanpreet Kaur-led Team India has been in excellent form as they recently whitewashed Sri Lanka in the ODI series and also won the T20I series 2-1 ahead of CWG 2022.

India have been put in Group A with Australia, Pakistan & Barbados and will play the opener against Australia on July 29 at Edgbaston.
