Amine Adli Joins Bournemouth from Bayer Leverkusen in €29M Deal

Bournemouth, England, Aug 21 (AP) Amine Adli, the Moroccan winger, is the latest player to depart Bayer Leverkusen, having finalized his transfer to Bournemouth on Thursday. Florian Wirtz, Granit Xhaka, Jeremie Frimpong, Jonathan Tah, and Lukas Hradecky have also left the squad this summer, after their undefeated run in domestic competitions in the 2023-24 season, ultimately winning the Bundesliga and German Cup—a feat they couldn't replicate last term. According to BBC reports, the transfer fee was 29 million euros ($33.8 million). Adli, aged 25, was frequently utilized as an impactful substitute for Leverkusen in league matches, amassing 23 goals over 143 competitive appearances, though he often started in cup fixtures. Joining Bournemouth on a contract until 2028, Adli reflected on his four-year tenure at Leverkusen, saying, "The special time in this club has shaped me as an athlete and as a person. I will never forget them." This season, Leverkusen welcomes a new coach, Erik ten Hag, who has taken over from Xabi Alonso. (AP) DDV
