A recent study stated that consuming around 20 grams of almonds, 30 minutes before a meal can lead to a significant decrease in blood sugar levels.

A recent study conducted by the Centre for Nutrition Research, National Diabetes, obesity and Cholesterol Foundation stated that consuming around 20 grams of almonds, 30 minutes before a meal can lead to a significant decrease in blood sugar levels while improving insulin, glucose levels and glycemic parameters.

The research was conducted on 27 men and 33 women having diabetes, acute infections advanced end-organ damage, and liver and renal disease.

According to this research, when almonds are taken 30 minutes before meals, insulin release is stimulated by the 75-grams oral glucose load. Also, almonds are loaded with zinc and magnesium which help in improving insulin sensitivity.
