US President Donald Trump’s campaign has spent 8.8 million dollars on legal challenges to overturn the November 3rd election result. The largest payment of $3 million has been made to Wisconsin Elections Commission for a recount in two populous counties. Though the recounts did not change the result, Trump and his aides continue to maintain the narrative that the election was marred by fraudulent voting. The amount is a fraction of the $207.5 million that Trump’s campaign has raised to battle what they believe is a wrongful result. Hefty sums have been paid for advertising expenditures like 2.2 million to Trump’s own media firm for text message fund-raising.
