Uttarakhand CM Dhami mandates inclusion of Vikram Samvat in government notifications

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed officials to incorporate Vikram Samvat and Hindu calendar months (such as Falgun, Krishna Paksha/Shukla Paksha) alongside the date and year in government notifications, gazette announcements, inauguration plaques, and foundation stones.

He has directed the Chief Secretary to issue immediate orders to the General Administration Department to implement this practice, ensuring that traditional Indian timekeeping methods are reflected in official documents moving forward.

CM Dhami emphasized that Vikram Samvat is deeply rooted in Indian culture and tradition.

Additionally, on Monday, CM Dhami flagged off the 'Drugs Free Uttarakhand' bike rally, organized by the Adarsh Industrial Autonomy Cooperative Society in Doiwala, Dehradun.

Adarsh Sanstha President Asha Kothari highlighted that the organization, a recipient of the Teelu Rauteli Award, is actively engaged in social and creative initiatives. She noted that under CM Dhami’s leadership, the campaign for a drug-free Uttarakhand is being conducted statewide.

As part of the event, the song album Devbhoomi Ma Auli Bahar was released at the Chief Minister's residence. The album features vocals by Vijendra Singh Bartwal and Uttam Singh Bhandari, with lyrics penned by Satyapal Singh Bhandari. The music has been composed by Shailendra Shailu and Dilip Anjwal, with performances by Uttam Singh Bhandari and Harish Kothari. The album's producer is Uttam Singh Bhandari.

Earlier in the day, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Command, Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, met with CM Dhami at the Secretariat. Their discussion covered various contemporary issues of importance to the state.
