CM Yogi Adityanath reviews Varanasi, Azamgarh development projects

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday began a two-day visit to Varanasi, where he chaired a review meeting with public representatives from the Varanasi and Azamgarh divisions at the Circuit House auditorium, the state CMO said in a statement.

During the session, CM Yogi held one-on-one interactions with legislators, discussing local development needs, the status of ongoing schemes, and priority areas for future work. He stressed the importance of expediting development in public utility services and extending focus to remote regions.

Reviewing constituency-wise proposals from the Public Works, Urban Development, and Tourism departments, the Chief Minister directed the Principal Secretary (PWD) to act promptly on submissions. He asked officials to prepare estimates, complete formalities, and begin work without delay. “Priority is to be given to essential roads, bridges, and culverts, particularly those linking industrial areas, block headquarters, and religious or tourist sites,” he said, adding that other projects would be taken up in phases.

CM Yogi also instructed that proposals from public representatives be included in the Urban Development Department’s upcoming initiatives. Tourism-related projects from both divisions were reviewed, and directions were issued for swift implementation.

The infrastructure proposals cover a wide range of works including roads to block headquarters, interlinking roads, access to religious sites, ROBs, bypasses, flyovers, bridges, culverts, black spot improvements, and pontoon bridges. These efforts aim to boost connectivity and spur economic activity in the region.

Reaffirming his government’s commitment to public welfare, the Chief Minister said, “Every public utility and development project would be given a concrete form, with clear accountability established for timely and quality execution.”

The meeting was attended by ministers Anil Rajbhar, Om Prakash Rajbhar, Dara Singh Chauhan, Dayashankar Singh, Ravindra Jaiswal, Dr Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’, Girish Chandra Yadav, and Danish Azad Ansari, along with MLCs and MLAs from both divisions.
