This registration will continue till January 27, 2025 and the online exam will be held on March 22, 2025.
Giving more information, the government spokesperson said that children born between January 01, 2005 and July 01, 2008 (both dates inclusive) are eligible for this registration campaign.&nbsp;
For this recruitment drive, 12th passed youth in Science subject with Mathematics, English and Physics subjects or diploma or vocational course holder with 50% marks can register themselves for this recruitment campaign.

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrested Panchayat Secretary Prithvi Singh and Audit Inspector Davinder Bansal in Sangrur for accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000 related to auditing village panchayat development works.

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, has arrested Panchayat Secretary, Prithvi Singh,posted at BDPO Office, block Moonak in Sangrur district red handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs. 20000.&nbsp;
In this case another co-accused Davinder Bansal, Audit Inspector, posted in the office of Regional Deputy Director, Local Fund Audit, Patiala has also been nominated.
An official spokesperson of state VB said the aforementioned accused has been arrested following a complaint lodged by Gurwinder Singh, a resident of village Maha Singh Wala in Moonak who is husband of former Sarpanch.
He further added that the complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the said Panchayat Secretary has demanded bribe of Rs 20000 for auditing of the development works carried out by the village panchayat of Maha Singh Wala during the previous tenure and told that the bribe money has to be shared with aforementioned Davinder Bansal, Audit Inspector.
The spokesperson informed that after a preliminary enquiry of this complaint the VB team laid a trap during which the accused Panchayat Secretary was arrested while he was accepting the bribe money from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.&nbsp;
In this regard a case has been registered against &nbsp;said Prithvi Singh, Panchyat Secretary and Davinder Bansal, Audit Inspector, at VB police station Patiala range. The accused would be produced in the competent court tomorrow and future investigations into this case was under progress, he said.

Farmers led by Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, have been camping at Shambhu and Khanauri border points between Punjab and Haryana since February 13 after their march to Delhi was stopped by security forces.

A &lsquo;jatha&rsquo; (group) of 101 farmers attempted to march to Delhi thrice between December 6 and 14 but was stopped by security personnel in Haryana.
On December 19 too, Mann urged the Centre to hold talks with the protesting farmers. He said it was the Centre&rsquo;s duty and any issue could be resolved through dialogue.&nbsp;

Reaffirming the commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government to firmly stand with farmers of the state, Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian has assured farmer union leaders that the state government will not allow farmers' interests to be affected by the National Policy Framework on Agricultural Marketing.
The Agriculture Minister was holding in-depth discussions with farmer unions&rsquo; leaders on the draft policy on &ldquo;National Policy Framework on Agricultural Marketing here at Punjab Bhawan, on Thursday.&nbsp;
&ldquo;The state government is concerned as this policy could have serious implications for the State and its farmers, so we want to analyse and consult on the each and every aspect of the draft policy shared by the GoI,&rdquo; said the Agriculture Minister, while adding that agriculture experts and other stakeholders will also be consulted soon to analyse it thoroughly so that not a single point is left unconsidered.
Gurmeet Singh Khudian, along with Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Mr. Anurag Verma, Chairman of Punjab State Farmers' &amp; Farm Workers' Commission Dr. Sukhpal Singh, Secretary Punjab Mandi Board Mr. Ramvir, appealed the farmers to send their suggestions and comments in this regard to the Agriculture department.
Farmer Unions&rsquo; leaders Joginder Singh Ugrahan, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Dr. Darshan Pal, Ruldu Singh Mansa, Dr. Satnam Singh Ajnala and other leaders expressed deep concerns over potential privatisation, monopolistic practices in the disguise of the Policy. It could be an attempt to reintroduce the contentious provisions of the three farm laws, which were repealed by the Union Government following the farmers&rsquo; protests, they added.&nbsp;
They also urged the state government for further examination before sending a response to the Centre so that Punjab and its farmers interests could be fully secured.
The high-level meeting was also attended by Special Secretary Agriculture Harbir Singh, Director Agriculture Mr. Jaswant Singh, Director of Research at PAU, Ludhiana Dr Ajmer Singh Dhatt and senior officials of Punjab Mandi Board and Agriculture department.

Punjab Water Resources Department has decided to close Bist Doab Canal for 33 days to complete the ongoing works.
Disclosing this, an official spokesperson of the department said that keeping in view the weather conditions and status of crops, the Punjab Government has decided to close the Bist Doab Canal from 20 December, 2024 to 21 January, 2025 (both days inclusive) for 33 days.&nbsp;
He further said that the state government has already issued notification in this regard under Rule 63 of Rules framed under the Northern India Canal and Drainage Act, 1873 (Act No.VIII of 1873).

It is also informed that 21st December, 2024 (Saturday) has been declared as a "Dry Day" in the revenue jurisdiction of the Municipal Bodies which are going to the polls.

General and Bye-elections to 5 Municipal Corporations and 41 Municipal Councils apart from some other ward-wise bye-elections will be conducted on 21st &nbsp;December, 2024. In order to ensure due opportunity to voters to exercise their franchise in these local body elections, the following information is being shared with the general public.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the Punjab State Election Commission said that 21 December (Saturday) would be declared as a public holiday in all Punjab Government offices situated in the jurisdiction of the Municipal Bodies where elections are going to be held under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
He further informed that Special leave to government employees and other workers who are voters of these municipal bodies which are going to the polls but employed elsewhere would be allowed as per rules. &nbsp;In addition, he added that holiday would be declared in all the schools whose buildings are being used for election purposes.
It is for the information of the general public that 21st December, 2024 has been declared as a 'Close Day' within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Bodies which are going to the polls under the provisions of the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958, and the Factories Act, 1948 to enable workers of such shops, factories, and commercial establishments located in the revenue jurisdiction of the concerned Municipal Body to cast their vote.
It is also informed that 21st December, 2024 (Saturday) has been declared as a "Dry Day" in the revenue jurisdiction of the Municipal Bodies which are going to the polls.
Furthermore, he added that Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar, Punjabi University Patiala, and Panjab University, Chandigarh have informed that they have postponed all those annual and semester exams which were scheduled to be held on 21st &nbsp;December, 2024 to some other date.
Students who were to appear in various exams on these dates may refer to the concerned University Website for details of the fresh dates.
The Commission has made all suitable measures for the conduct of the polls in a free and fair manner and encourages all voters whose names are entered in the electoral rolls to exercise their franchise.

The Farishtey Scheme, launched by the Punjab government to provide immediate, hassle-free treatment to road accident victims, has proven to be a boon in saving precious lives.

Punjab: Over 200 accident victims treated under Farishtey scheme

Under the Farishtey Scheme, 494 hospitals, including 90 tertiary care hospitals, have been specifically empaneled to cover a 30 km stretch along national and state highways/roads.

The Farishtey Scheme, launched by the Punjab government to provide immediate, hassle-free treatment to road accident victims, has proven to be a boon in saving precious lives.
According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), approximately 1,400 road accidents and 400 deaths occur every day in India, with Punjab alone accounting for around 5,000 accidental deaths annually. The Farishtey Scheme aims to address this critical issue by providing comprehensive treatment to accident victims, without any capping on the amount.
The state flagship scheme, aimed at reducing the mortality and morbidity rates resulting from injuries sustained in roadside accidents and to provide immediate, hassle-free treatment in government and empaneled private hospitals, was notified on January 25, 2024. The scheme is applicable to all the victims and sufferers of road accidents that happened in the territory of the state of Punjab irrespective of the caste, creed, nationality and place of birth of the victims and provides comprehensive treatment to accident victims, without any capping on the amount.
Divulging details, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) State Health Agency (SHA) Punjab Ms Babita said that to encourage common people to come forth and help accident victims and save the lives of the victims, such &ldquo;Farishteys&rdquo; are being felicitated with cash rewards, commendation certificates and provided immunity from legal complications and police inquiries. &ldquo;Any person who voluntarily rescue the accident victims and help them in saving their lives, will be considered as &lsquo;Farishta&rsquo; and conferred with commendation certificate and a cash prize of Rs 2000,&rdquo; she said.
The CEO said that since its launch, the scheme has provided free medical treatment to as many as 223 accident victims, showcasing its effectiveness in reducing mortality rates resulting from road accidents. So far, 66 "Farishtas" (good Samaritans) have been registered with the State Health Agency (SHA) Punjab, she added.
She said that the Chief Minister of Punjab has recognised the selfless efforts of 16 Farishtas, by awarding them a cash incentive of Rs 2000 per victim on August 15, 2024, and a commendation certificates, with their awards aptly named the "Farishey Award". The remaining Farishtas have also been recognised, receiving their awards from the Deputy Commissioners in their respective districts, she added.
Under the Farishtey Scheme, 494 hospitals, including 90 tertiary care hospitals, have been specifically empaneled to cover a 30 km stretch along national and state highways/roads, ensuring treatment during the critical golden hour.
Ms Babita said that these hospitals are integrated with the Mapple application (a mobile app), a mobile app that helps the people to search and navigate to the nearby empaneled hospital.
The scheme is also linked to emergency helplines, including 108, 1033, and 112 Sadak Surakhiya Force (SSF), which use IT systems to locate the nearest hospital for quick transportation, with hospitals within a 30 km radius providing immediate care within the golden hour, she said, while adding that the 108-ambulance staff have been trained to manage and transport accident victims to the nearest hospitals.
The CEO said that if an empaneled hospital demands payment, beneficiaries can file a complaint with the SHA Punjab or register their grievance at 104 Medical helplines.

He said that the Horticulture Department in Punjab is implementing the Central Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) Scheme in a significant manner to promote agricultural development and further strengthen the economy of farmers in the state.
He mentioned that the Horticulture Department of Punjab is functioning as the State Nodal Agency for implementing the AIF scheme. He added that to ensure the effective implementation of this scheme, the department has launched a WhatsApp helpline number 9056092906. He said that anyone can send a message to this number to receive detailed information about the scheme.

Phased Construction Plan and Progress The project will be implemented in phases, with the first phase focusing on constructing 1,000 anganwadi centres. Of these, 56 centres are already complete, and 644 are currently under construction. In addition, the approval has been granted for 156 more centres, and 300 additional centres will soon be under development. Minister Kaur assured that the construction work will be expedited to meet deadlines and provide timely benefits to children and families.
Upgrading Existing Centres The Punjab government is also upgrading 350 existing anganwadi centres, with an allocation of INR 7 crore. The upgrades will improve sanitation, furniture, and teaching materials to ensure better services for the children and women depending on these centres. Minister Kaur emphasized that the improvements would create a conducive learning environment that meets the growing demands of communities.
Recruitment of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers As part of the expansion and upgradation of the anganwadi network, the Punjab government plans to recruit 3,000 new workers and helpers. Last year, 5,000 workers and helpers were recruited based on merit, reflecting the government&rsquo;s commitment to fair and transparent hiring practices. These new recruits will play a crucial role in managing the daily operations of the centres and supporting early childhood education, nutrition, and health services.
Commitment to Women and Child Development The Punjab government's effort to strengthen the anganwadi infrastructure is part of a larger vision to foster the overall development of women and children in the state. By enhancing infrastructure, equipping centres with the right resources, and ensuring the recruitment of qualified personnel, the government aims to create a supportive environment for women and children to thrive. Minister Kaur concluded by affirming that the government&rsquo;s efforts underscore its dedication to prioritizing the welfare of women and children in Punjab&rsquo;s development agenda.

Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister, Dr. Baljit Kaur, conducted a surprise inspection of Anganwadi Centers located in the villages of Bhokhra and Bajak in Bathinda Urban.
Divulging in this regards, Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that thorough inspection of records, including the graffiti and Supplementary Nutrition Program (SNP) at the Anganwadi Center in village Bhokhra, was carried out. She also interacted with SNP beneficiaries and elderly individuals to discuss pension-related issues.&nbsp;
In village Bajak, the Minister inspected the building of the Anganwadi Center constructed with the assistance of the MGNREGA scheme. To assess the quality of the Supplementary Nutrition Program, discussions were held with children, pregnant women and lactating mothers, who expressed satisfaction with the nutritious food and services provided by the Anganwadi Centers.
During the visit, records related to the Supplementary Nutrition Program were reviewed. The minister also conducted an on-site quality check of items like sweet and savory porridge and pre-mix khichdi prepared at the centers. Additionally, interactions were held with elderly individuals regarding pensions and with women beneficiaries to review government schemes.&nbsp;
To evaluate children&rsquo;s intellectual and creative development, Dr. Baljit Kaur interacted with them, listening to their poems and observing their activities. She appreciated the dedication and performance of Anganwadi workers and helpers for their commendable efforts in child care and nutrition.
Dr. Baljit Kaur reaffirmed the Punjab Government&rsquo;s commitment, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, to strengthen early childhood care and ensure the welfare of women and children across the state.
During the inspections CDPO Shri Pankaj Kumar, Smt. Usha and District Welfare Officer Shri Varinder Singh were present.

A Cabinet Sub-Committee comprising Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema and NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, formed to address the legitimate demands and issues of Punjab government employees, held a series of meetings on Wednesday with representatives from the Meritorious Teachers Union, 3704 Adhiyapak Union, Democratic Teachers Front, Purani Pension Prapti Morcha, Khetibari Vidhyarthi Association, and Anganwari Mulazam Union.
During the meeting, representatives of the Meritorious Teachers Union highlighted the achievements of Meritorious Schools in creating a bright future for students and presented their demands and issues.&nbsp;
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, on behalf of the Cabinet Sub-Committee, directed the Education Department to consider regularizing the services of these teachers through the officers committee constituted for this purpose. He also instructed that a report on the financial demands of the union be prepared and sent to the Finance Department.&nbsp;
Finance Minister Cheema assured the union that the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is paying special attention to the demands and issues of employees who are delivering exceptional services.
In the meeting with the Democratic Teachers Front, the Cabinet Sub-Committee directed the Education Department to seek legal opinion from the Advocate General&rsquo;s Office on the issues raised by the front that are currently in court or may face legal hurdles.&nbsp;
Regarding the financial issues raised by the front, Finance Minister Cheema assured that these matters are being taken seriously by the Finance Department. For the issues raised by the &lsquo;3704 Adhiyapak Union&rsquo;, the Cabinet Sub-Committee asked the Education Department to hold a meeting with the union and submit a report.
The Khetibari Vidhyarthi Association demanded that agriculture be made a compulsory subject in schools. The Cabinet Sub-Committee, during discussions with the Education Department, asked the department to refer this matter to the Subject Expert Committee. Additionally, the Cabinet Sub-Committee directed the Education Department to consider including agriculture in vocational courses.
The Purani Pension Prapti Morcha raised the issue of resuming the old pension scheme for state government employees. The committee informed the Morcha that the officers committee constituted by the Punjab Government is holding regular meetings to make appropriate decision in this regard.&nbsp;
Finance Department officials apprised the Cabinet Sub-Committee that any further decisions will be taken after receiving detailed guidelines on the new pension scheme, the &lsquo;Unified Pension Scheme&rsquo;, presented by the Union Government.
Regarding the issue of gratuity raised by the Anganwari Mulazam Union, the Cabinet Sub-Committee directed the Social Security, Women and Child Development Department to seek legal advice and then send the matter to the Finance Department. For the demands related to the Union government, the Cabinet Sub-Committee directed the department to write to the Union government to resolve these issues.&nbsp;
Concerning the difficulties arising from the inclusion of some Anganwadi centers in primary schools, the Cabinet Sub-Committee asked the departments to hold a meeting with Education department to resolve these issues.
The meetings were attended by Dr. Tina, Dr. Ajay, Boota Singh and Ashpreet Kaur from the Meritorious Teachers Union, Vikram Dev Singh, Mohinder Kaurianwali, Gurpiar Kotli, Rajiv Barnala and Sukhdev Singh Dansiwal from the Democratic Teachers Front; Harjinder Singh, Yadwinder Singh and Charanjit Singh from &lsquo;3704 Adhiyapak Union&rsquo;, Angrej Singh and Akashdeep from the Khetibari Vidhyarthi Association, Gurjant Singh Kokri, Tehal Singh Sarabha and Randeep Singh from Purani Pension Prapti Morcha, and Usha Rani and Gurmeet Kaur from Anganwari Mulazam Union.
